Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Send Anything to School for My Child's Birthday?

Birthdays are exciting for kids and we want to celebrate our children on their special day. If you would like to send items in small individual bags, you are welcome to do so. Some ideas are bubbles, pencils, erasers, or little toys. It is preferred that you send non-edible items. Please let your child's teacher know a day in advance if sending items to school. If sending edible items, you MUST provide 24 hour notice to the teacher. All items MUST be store--bought and in it's original container. The school cannot allow homemade items. If the following requirements are not met, the teacher will not be able to serve the class the edible birthday treat. Additionally, it is helpful to send small plates or napkins. Please do not send any items with nuts due to severe allergies. Thank you for helping us keep our kids safe and healthy.

How does my child get a bus pass?

The school will be assigning Zpass Bus Cards to students riding the bus daily. To sign up go to: https://www.zpassplus.com/ You will need your student's RFID (Radio Frequency ID) # off the back of their ZPass cards. We are working as quickly as possible to get these cards issued and printed for each of our bus riders. Once they have your students made they will attach it to their back pack for easy scanning on and off the bus.

What do I do if my child is sick?

Accidents Happen: Please pack a change of clothes in your child's backpack including socks and underwear. Clothing in the clinic is limited and students are usually much more comfortable changing into their own clothes. If clothes are borrowed from the clinic, please wash and return them at your earliest convenince. Donations of gently used bottoms for boy and girls are greatly appreciated, as well as donations of any new packaged underwear.

If your child is sick: It tends to happen every year once the kids get back together. If your child is sick, please keep them home until they fever free (under 100.0 degrees) and no vomiting or diarrhea for at least 24 hours without the use of medication. If your child wakes up sick, please do not send them to the nurse for evaluation or determination of illness. Please contact your pediatrician for this advice.

COVID Testing: The nurse is no longer testing for COVID at school. If you suspect your child has covid, please have them tested at home or other testing facilities. If you have a positive case of COVID with or without symptoms, please keep him/her home for 5 days from the first day of symptoms or positive test date and it is recommended to wear a mask for 5 days after that.

Absences related to Illness:  If your child is absent due to COVID or ANY other illness, please email [email protected], submit attendance note online, or send a handwritten note with your child upon return letting the school know the dates of absences and that they were home sick (and with COVID, if applicable) or submit a doctor's note.
